What is acrylic paint pouring art?

This acrylic paint pouring art class will teach you the art of pouring on canvas. Acrylic paint pouring art is the craft of pouring fluid acrylics onto a canvas or other surface to create unique abstract effects. Pour painting is very addictive and a beautiful art form. I will discuss acrylic pour painting ideas including dutch pour painting which is a very popular paint pouring technique.

This class will show you how to mix acrylics into fluid paints and how to create those cool “cells” in acrylic pour paintings. You will also be provided with a paint pouring kit.

We will give helpful tips on how to choose the right colours for your acrylic pour painting. Because of how colours work together, I believe choosing colours is an essential part of the creative process.

The easiest paint pouring technique but one that never fails to fascinate our clients.

• Tree Ring Pouring Technique

The tree-ring pour uses the dirty pour technique but alters the way the paint is applied to the canvas to create a captivating design.

Tree ring pours add depth and dimension! You should be careful about the colours you mix and how they are combined. Use light and dark colours together to create stunning combinations and lines.

• String Pull Pouring Technique

A string pull creates feather-like wisps on a poured background by using a piece of chain. These light and airy designs may then be outlined to make striking feathers or left as is for a natural look.

• Dutch Pour

What is a Dutch Pour Painting?

Dutch pour painting is an acrylic paint pouring technique that makes use of air to manipulate paints on a canvas. A hair dryer, straw, lungs or any other device that blows air can be used to create a dutch pour. The ribbon-like edges and cell lacing characteristic of Dutch pours is what makes them so popular.

Choosing Colors For Acrylic Paint Pouring Art

An analogous colour is a combination of colours that are close to one another on the colour wheel. These colours are safe and will not cause any problems if they get mixed up during acrylic pouring.

Because it creates contrast in your paintings, I recommend that you choose black or white.

Monochromatic can be another safe option. These colours can be pure or mixed with black or white. Monochromatic color schemes include dark, primary and light blues.

Your everyday environment is the best place to get colour inspiration. Take a look around your house and outdoors for inspiration. What colours are your favourite?

It will have a beautiful effect if you choose a metallic-like silver or gold. Pour paintings with metallics are very beautiful!
